Refuse Pick-Up
- Residential garbage pick-up service is every Friday (when a holiday falls in the week, pickup will be a day later).
- Bulky Waste pick-up is twice a year in the spring and fall.
- Contact the Village Hall (309) 523-3705 if additional information or trash bins are required. Only refuse in the supplied containers will be collected.
- Pickup is $10.00 / household. Billing will be done monthly if you are a user of water and/or sewer, or every 6 months ($60.00) if you have garbage service only.
- Used Appliance pick-up by appointment only – call 1-800-934-5378
- Republic Waste is the Village’s contracted hauler (800-233-9634)

Recycling
Blue Recycle Bins are used for our Recycling efforts. If you did not receive a Recycle Bin, please call Village hall at 309-523-3705 to make arrangements to get yours. Recycling is every other week.
Recyclables include glass, aluminum and tin cans, #1 & #2 plastics, newspaper, magazines and corrugated cardboard.

Yard Waste Pick-Up
Yard waste will be collected from the curbside Call 563-332-0050 to make arrangements for pick-up. The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency prohibits the dumping of yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, garden residue and small twigs) at landfills. Each bag or bundle must be tagged. Yardwaste stickers are available at Village Hall for $1.50 ea. Yardwaste must be in Kraft Paper bags. Brush must be bundled in 4′ lengths. Maximum weight of any container is 40 pounds.

Snow Removal
Vehicles should not be parked on City streets when snow has accumulated to a depth of two inches or more.

Dorrance Park is the smallest of the five Rock Island County Forest Preserves with 81 acres. Dorrance provides excellent habitat for wildlife and is a wonderful spot for bird watching. The Upper Rock Island County Recreation Association, URICRA, uses Dorrance Park for some of its programs, for more information about URICRA click here. Some of the featured amenities are:
